  What can we do to figure that out?

  Awesome questions, highlights some pretty serious issues.

  If a person puts his complete trust in a Bible scholar, with an “if he says it, I believe it” attitude, would his faith ultimately be in the Bible or the scholar?

  I'd take this one a bit further even:

  If a person puts his complete trust in what somebody wrote centuries ago about their God/gods, with an “if he says it, I believe it” attitude, would his faith ultimately be in the Gods/gods or the ancient writer?

  A nuclear war may happen if someone's chooses to start one. And it's very unlikely someone will.

  In the mean time we already have a pandemic and an urgent and very high-impact climate problem that are actually happening right now.

  Why focus on what may happen in some unlikely scenario, when we haven't even started to properly address the much more urgent issues we already have?

  I wonder how this will work out in countries like Australia, The Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Russia, etc.
  In all these countries Watchtower has shown a blatant disregard for the law, and for government requests or demands.
  And now they'll gonna send them a religious rag telling them they better become JW because God is gonna exterminate them?

  Yeah they probably gonna take that seriously....

  (Or....Watchtower isn't gonna send national government officials anything....just implying to the regular dubs that they will do so....)

  Witness reaching out to me after 20+ years...

  a few weeks ago; a witness couple from the midwest reached out to me after 25+ years.

  they said they were doing a letter writing campaign and decided to reach out to me… they called on my personal cell phone, which was a little surprising.

  a few days ago, a couple that i knew from over 40 years ago, sent me a text, again to my personal cell phone.. i assume that they just googled my name to get the personal info.

  At the moment they can't go door to door.

  They can only send letter, emails, or call people on the phone.

  But when they all do that all the time, their actions will be seen as spamming.

  So the GB has instructed JW to only mail/call people they already personally know.

  Problem: JW don't really know too much people who aren't JW.

  Now they all go through their rolodex to desperately search for some former or non-JW who they can send a recruitment letter.

  Not really an organized effort to target you or others. It's a side effect of Covid-19.

  five witnesses will testify on the jw issue next monday and tuesday, 10 and 11 august:.

  It would have been good if they could have played the tape to Gillies and asked for comment.

  By the looks of it the prof had already seen the video on YouTube or at least read a transcript.
  

  He wasn't asking these questions to gain information - he already had the information and knew tha answer to every question he asked. He just wanted Gillies to say it for himself. He wanted Gillies in a certain spot. Just showing him the video could have given him the option to deny it is an official unaltered video.

  Now Gillies has to 'find' the recording of the seminar that the prof already knows exists.

  Either Gillies had to come back lying and get caught, or he has to present evidence that JW consider legal proceedings as 'Satan out to get us'.

  Was Sin Inevitable?

  i was wondering about this question and wanted to ask: was sin inevitable?

  also, i had thought about past watchtower articles or publications related to this topic and did some research and found this from our readers ask if adam was perfect, how was it possible for him to sin?.

  well, then, did god create adam with a moral weakness, so that he lacked the ability to make sound decisions or to withstand temptation?

  I always wonder how an act of disobedience and the resulting disturbed relationship between individuals (Adam/Eve vs JHWH) resulted into physical defects.

  Were Adam and Eve not really perfect by themselves, but merely kept alive and healthy by God while they obeyed him?

  Or were they perfect and healthy all by themselves, and God purposely put defects into them after they disobeyed?

  And how is sin inheritable through DNA?

  What are the mechanisms for this?

  So many questions, so few reasonable answers....

  Sunny skies we have! Currently very nice summer weather, almost 32C/89F and more days like that to come.

  Unfortunately I must demolish my bathroom this weekend so I'll be extra sweaty...
